Eastwood CFC announce the 2019/20 Development & Academy Team club structure

The club are delighted to confirm the upcoming plans for our Academy & Development Team for the new season.

After a very successful first season in the National Youth Alliance, the Pro:Direct Academy Nottingham team will continue in the National Youth Alliance competing with the likes of Boston United and Mansfield Town to name a few, the new re-structure will now see Eastwood CFC Development side flooded with Youth and Academy players only acting as a feeder to the 1st Team. The Development side will continue to compete in the Nottinghamshire Senior League playing at step seven on the Non-League pyramid.

The Development team will be led by Academy Director, David Lilley, working alongside Andy Leith who had a successful spell with our U18's towards the back end of the season. Both Andy and Dave are full-time members at the club, fitting in with our club philosophy.

We want to offer a clear pathway from the Under 6's through to our full-time education programme, with a direct route to the First Team.

David Lilley and 1st Team Manager, James Jepson have a strong working relationship and will be working together closely to enable a smooth and easy transition for youth and Academy players into men's football alongside assisting the 1st Team to reach their ambition of step five football.

To run in line with the boys and men set up at Eastwood CFC we have now made the changes with our girls and ladies set up to mirror the philosophy at the club.

As already confirmed, Eastwood CFC will be the home of Nottingham Forest Ladies for the next two seasons.

Eastwood CFC Junior Girls teams will now be part of Nottingham Forest Ladies, creating another great link with the best professional football club in Nottinghamshire.

The club are also delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Leith as the Head Coach of Pro:Direct Academy | Nottingham Girls.

Andy will be coaching and managing the girls on a daily basis, as well as being their full-time tutor on site here at Eastwood CFC.

Andy's career in Ladies Football speaks volume, with two FA Women’s Premier League Championships (Reserve Division) in two seasons with two different teams (Nottingham Forest LFC and Leicester City WFC).

Eastwood CFC are excited to welcome Andy into his new role at the club, and we're looking forward to him getting going in pre-season with the girls.
