“I’ve got a changing room who are gutted. Similar feeling to when we drew at Belper, but fair play to Kimberley who dug deep".

After Saturday's 2-2 draw against Kimberley Miners Welfare, First Team Manager, James Jepson had this to say:

“I’ve got a changing room who are gutted. Similar feeling to when we drew at Belper, but fair play to Kimberley who dug deep and got back in the game but to be honest the game should have been managed and put to bed.

However, I can see some massive improvements since I’ve taken over just over a month ago and we must take this momentum into the next training session and be ready for Clipstone next Saturday.

Jepson explained the progress of certain players.

“You take Callum McGarry for example, I saw him in August and tried to sign him for my previous club but he remained loyal to Eastwood, even though he was not always playing for our reserve side. The past is the past but I find it difficult to understand how a player with his ability wasn’t given a chance sooner, he has been different class and I’m hoping the game time he’s been given this season will help his development and help this football club with our long term goals.

“Paddy Webb has now scored 12 goals in 4 games and I believe he’s getting better and better, myself and Flynny have changed his mindset both on and off the pitch and it’s benefiting both him and our club.

He has an edge to him that I like, he is confident and a winner. There is definitely more to come from him as he wants to listen and become better".
