Eastwood Community FC are champions of the CML South after beating Sherwood Colliery 4-1 in the title showdown on Saturday afternoon.
We became the first team to beat Sherwood Colliery in the league all season, with a convincing victory to earn us the title and get us promoted!
As well as the First Team being crowned Champions, our Reserve squad did the double - the League and the League Cup! A great achievement by the staff and players of the ECFC Reserves.
Chairman, Jamie Bennett said: "The club are absolutely delighted about what our senior teams have accomplished this season. Our reserves have fielded a young team that have done us proud, not only winning the league but the League Cup also."
"Our pinnacle team at the club achieved the milestone we set out on at the start of the year, winning the league, being crowned League Champions and enabling us to gain promotion to Step 6 of the pyramid. Everyone involved has been fantastic and the Club is on a massive high."
" It’s set up a great atmosphere for next year, with over 40 teams planned for a club that has only been existence for 3 years, I am proud to be involved with some great people at this Club."
Eastwood CFC would also like to take the time to thank all of our supporters who have followed us throughout the season, and congratulate the first team players & staff on this great achievement.
A wonderful season finished off with two hands on the CML trophy!
