Eastwood and Radford play out a goalless draw in front of pleased Eastwood faithful.

Radford returned from Coronation Park as victors in the Notts Senior League Cup last season, but were under no illusions that it wouldn't be so easy this time around, Eastwood made sure of that.

Eastwood looked the most likely to break the deadlock throughout the game and started with early chances for Warren Hatfield, Jason Westwood and Kione Gordon.

Both teams were wasteful in the final third and Radford's first effort was way off target and flew out the park.

New boy Tim Adcock put in a great performance and had some of the best chances of the game, but couldn't find the back of the net.

Wood could have nicked it at the end, but Jak Lightly couldn't make the most of a great chance and let Radford escape with the draw and a clean sheet intact.

There were a few changes to the team from Saturday's loss at Kimberley, with Tim Adock filling in for Ryan Williams on the left wing as Williams dropped back into the left back position. Elsewhere Kione Gordon was picked to partner Warren Hatfield up top in Kye Hall's absence.

The first chance came in the eleventh minute after the two sides had finished sizing each other up. Warren Hatfield has looked like a canny capture so far for Wood, but this time he couldn't get his shot on target and set the agenda for the rest of the match.

Two minutes later Jason Westwood found himself in a similar position, unfortunately for him with a similar outcome as he struck the ball wide of the post.

Eastwood came the closest when Hatfield was allowed room to let off another shot, this time Kione Gordon managed to get his foot to it and flick it agonisingly over the bar.

Three early opportunities with little response from Radford had the hosts smelling blood, but the away side eventually got their first real chance of note. Skying the ball out the stands.

Tim Adcock was proving to be a useful outlet for Eastwood, with his close control and composed dribbling, he was a big threat to the visitors. He fashioned a chance of his own but wasn't having much luck either and fired wide.

Radford grew into the game early in the second half and were finding some success of their own through some good football. Their build up play may have been good but they were also struggling in the finishing department and had a number of chances that didn't give the Eastwood keeper much to worry about.
