Hucknall Rolls fight back for big win.

Captain Lee Bull was restored into the starting eleven in place of one of Tuesday’s goalscorer, Lewis Bentley and Emanuel Bockarie was given his first start in replace of Shaun Roberts.

The visitors started strongly and looked to grab a hold of the game early, dominating possession and probing Hucknall Roll’s defence. Their pressure told in the 28th minute when Rolls failed to deal with a dangerous Eastwood attack, Daniel Guild was the benefactor of a loose ball in their area and he struck to put his team ahead.

Things were looking rosy for the travelling Wood faithful who were hoping to see their boys push on, but the game began to turn as Hucknall looked for a way back. They were eventually rewarded for their persistence when the referee awarded them a penalty just before half-time. After Tuesday’s clean sheet, Eastwood goalkeeper Andy Fretwell was in good form and he got down well to his left to parry captain Aaron Short’s spot-kick away.

The home side started the second half with the bit between their teeth and it took them just one minute to level things up. Harry Allen fired a belter from far out that finally beat the Eastwood keeper.

Rolls found themselves in control after their equaliser and made sure it was reflected in the score-line five minutes later, looping a header into the back of Wood’s net.

From then on there was only one side that looked like they could add to their tally, the hosts were left wondering how on earth they didn’t when the ball rattled both posts and rolled away from danger after a decent effort.

They wrapped things up in the 85th minute and caught an advancing Eastwood team on the break, moving the ball forward swiftly for Rory Smith to make it 3-1.
