ECFC 4-1 Mickleover RBL

Mickleover came with a game plan and a system of 4-5-1, something that, after taking the lead just after the half hour mark looked the perfect plan. However Eastwood responded within two minutes, Eastwood finally kick into action and started to play a bit, with Dave Worger and Daniel Guild finding space down the flanks backed up well by fullbacks Ross Marriot and Ryan Williams, however Jack Havron and Shaun Roberts seemed to be out numbered a little but were hanging in there and with Matt Brian up top having a decent game, along with the busy Tim Adcock just behind slowly seeing more and more of the ball, it was not long before Dave Worger supplied the perfect cross into the box for Matt Brian to head powerfully into the back of the net and make it for his 12th goal of the campaign and take a 1-1 score line into half-time.

Paul MacFarland was not really happy at half-time, he felt we were playing far to deep which was giving our midfield to much of an area to cover, so we pushed up higher in the second period and bingo! Our game went up a notch or two, AndyFretwell did what he had to do well and Oliver Buxton and Matt McCaul dominated at the back with Shaun Roberts and Jack Havron in full control of the middle of the pitch and when Dave Worger made it 2-1 Mickleover's game plan was gone and in a matter of minutes our second half dominance was further increased when fullback Ross Marriott found himself in mickleovers box, he drilled the ball across the box and a defender could only divert the ball goalwards to make it 3-1. At this point Mickleover changed the formation and the playing staff, which did give them a little bit of momentum but it left them a little open to the counter attack and when Daniel Guild broke free backed up by Tim Adcock a goal look on, Daniel Guild cut inside, Tim Adcock overlapped and an almost perfact reverse pass left the young midfielder with just the keeper to beat, something he did with ease to make it 4-1 and game over, 'Wood' saw the game out reasonably well and really should have scored more. All three subs were used Jak Lightly, Bassey Okon and Jake Danby all did there bit.
