ECFC 3-3 Swanwick Pentrich Road

Eastwood made just two changes from the team that drew at Bulwell last week, Matt McCaul returned from injury to replace Tim Adcock and Ross Marriott replaced James Leggitt.

Swanwick started the brighter of the two sides, forcing Eastwood keeper Andy Fretwell into a couple of good saves. Eastwood were dealt a massive blow on ten minutes when defender Lee Bull was shown a red card for bringing down top goal scorer Guy Wilding in the penalty area, the penalty was dispatched calmly to give Swanwick the lead.

Within forty seconds of the restart Eastwood were back on level terms a corner from Dave Worger was flicked on at the front post by Daniel Guild and headed home by Matt Brian. Eastwood went in front on twenty minutes a misplaced pass from the Swanwick goalkeeper fell kindly at the feet of Matt Brian to slot away his sixteenth goal of the season.

ECFC extended their lead just after the hour mark, a lung busting run down the right from Dave Worger who picked out Lewis Bentley in the box to bag his forth goal since his return to the club.

This time it was Swanwick's turn to strike back quickly, Eastwood's Achilles heel of defending set pieces came back to haunt them again when they failed to clear a corner, 3-2 game on.

The comeback was complete when captain Matt McCaul put through his own goal, the final fifth teen minutes was end to end either team could have won it, a draw was just about a fair result. Eastwood obviously the happier of the two sides after having a man less for eighty minutes of the game.
