Swanwick Pentrich Road 3-3 ECFC

Captain Aaron Short made a return to the side along with Jamie Thomas to the back four. Swanwick were full of confidence after their midweek home victory scoring 7 goals against Linby.

Eastwood actually started the game stronger but against the run of play they fell behind after 18 minutes.Keeper Jack Walker was wrong footed after a defensive mistake inside the penalty area. Eastwood equalised on the half hour Patrick Webb got free down the left side and his cross was met by Rory Smith to volley home from 6 yards. Swanwick again took the lead on 40 minutes with a fine strike from 20 yards which bounced over the line after striking the upright. Eastwwod were unhappy with the goal not with the decision that the ball crossed the line but the build up play which they were convinced the home striker was offside.

Swanwick added a third goal on 55 minutes when Eastwood failed to deal with a set play leaving a Swanwick player totally unmarked inside the penalty area who applied the finish. Eastwood cut the deficit 5 minutes later when Webb got clear down the left side and cut inside his marker to finish with a fine angled drive.

It was now all Eastwood who attacked at every opportunity in search of the equaliser. Jack Smith duly obliged on 70 minutes when cutting inside and hit a thunderous drive with his left foot into the top corner of the net. After getting themselves back into the game Eastwood went looking for the winning goal. Jack Smith and Jack James were both denied by good saves by the keeper however in the dying minutes Jack Walker produced a fine one on one save with Jordan Leeming clearing the rebound off the goal line.

After going 2 goals down Eastwood showed tremendous spirit and endeavour to get back into the game but we're still disappointed to concede 3 goals and not gain their first win of the season.
