Eastwood where forced into 2 changes from the previous weeks victory against Southwell. James Duncan and Tom Eastwood were recalled to the side replacing injured Chay Betteridge and absent Kane Mathews but Eastwood kept to a 3-5-2 formation.
The game started at a frantic pace and it was Selston who forced the first clear chance but keeper Jack Walked did well to block from Moore inside the 6 yard box. Eastwood best chance in the opening half hour fell to Jack Smith but after cutting inside the area he pulled his shot wide. Eastwood took the lead on 40 minutes when Jack Smith shot from 20 yards beat the Selston keeper into the top corner.
Virtually from the kick off Selston equalised after a good passing move Moore converted from close range.
HT Selston 1-1 ECFC
Right from the start of the half both sides were looking to attack their opponents at every opportunity. Jamie Thomas had the first chance of the half for Eastwood but blazed over from 8 yards on 48 minutes. Selston punished Eastwood 2 minutes later when Aiery latched onto a through ball and finished well under Walkers body.
Selston dominated the next 15 minutes putting Eastwood under intense pressure looking to kill the game off. With a combination of poor finishing, solid defensive work and several fine individual saves by Walker Eastwood gradually played themselves back into the game Eastwood also switched to 4-4-2 formation.
Eastwood got their equaliser on 70 minutes when Tom Eastwood deep corner fell to Paddy Webb who made no mistake from close range. On 77 minutes Eastwood again went in front when substitute James Hallam chased a long ball and produced a fine cross for fellow substitute Kyle McDermott to chest home at the far post.
Selston again came back at Eastwood but where denied by an outstanding double save from Walker firstly parrying Moore free kick then reacting to block the follow up. Eastwood had a couple of chances to kill the game off catching Selston on the break. McDermott striking the upright and Webb un selfishly tried to find strike partner Smith when clear through on goal.
Eastwood did secure all 3 points in injury time with a break away and Paddy Webb supplied the cool finish.
