ECFC 6-1 Holbrook St Michaels

Eastwood made one change from their midweek cup win James Duncan returning to the starting eleven at centre half with Greg Conn moving to right back.

Eastwood started brightly and took the lead on 19 minutes. A quickly taken free kick was well worked to Paddy Webb who's pin point cross was side footed into the roof of the net by Kelvin Mushambi. Eastwood doubled their lead on 28 minutes when Jack Smith worked himself space on the by line and crossed for Harry Allen who nodded home from close range. Holbrook pulled a goal back on 32 minutes which Eastwood were disappointed with as they thought keeper Jack Walker was fouled while going for the ball and Smith was on hand to finish from 6 yards.

Eastwood restored their 2 goal lead a minute later when Smith and Webb combined well to set up Harry Allen for his second goal.In an all action first half Eastwood added a further 2 goals. The first on 40 minutes Greg Conn turning smartly inside the area to convert Webbs corner. On the stroke Harry Allen turned provider crossing from the left side to James Hallam to firmly head past the keeper.

With the 3 points won at half time Eastwood second half performance understandably never quite reached the same levels as the first. Also with Tuesday nights fixture in mind Eastwood made 3 early changes. Eastwood were happy to keep possession of the ball but when they did break down the Holbrook defence the visiting keeper made several good saves. Eastwood keeper Jack Walker was also called into action and made 2 smart blocking saves. The only goal of the half came on 76 minutes when Patrick Webb scored a screamer from 25 yards into the corner of the net.
