Eastwood progressed to the next round of the league cup with a hard fought victory away against Kimberley MW via a penalty shootout. Eastwood made three changes from Saturday's league win. In came Rueben Mitchell for the injured Jack James while John Whitehurst and Jack Allen replaced Paddy Webb and Joe Butler.

In very blustery conditions with neither goalkeeper being called into any serious action in the half it was a very competitive affair. With both sides struggling to retain any ball possession for long periods.

The game sprung into life on fifty minutes when Eastwood keeper Jack Walker made a smart save from close range. Kimberley kept possession and from the resulting cross Lloyd made no mistake with a free header from eight yards. Eastwood responded on sixty minutes when Jack Allen was fouled inside the penalty area. Chay Betteridge duly despatched the resulting penalty.

Eastwood substitutes Joe Butler and Paddy Webb both had good chances to increase Eastwood lead and Kieran Knight had a effort well saved by the home keeper.

Kimberley also had chances at the other end the best of which a goal bound effort was brilliantly cleared by Sam Meakin.

Full-Time 1-1 No extra time played the game went straight to penalties.

With four well taken penalties by both sides Jack Walker saved Kimberley's fifth penalty. Jack Walker had the responsibility for Eastwood's fifth penalty but unfortunately placed his effort wide of the post. With sudden death now in place Jack Walker again produced another save and Kieran Knight stepped up to secure the win.
