Pinchbeck United 1-1 Eastwood CFC

With Martin Ball serving the final game of his two match ban and Daryll Thomas away, Kallum Keane & Stuart Coke took charge as Eastwood looked to make it back to back wins for the first time since August. Boasting a 100% record against Tuesday nights opponents winning all three of the previous meetings, Ball & Thomas were confident of another three points.

Their was just one enforced change to the starting eleven that beat Sherwood Colliery three days prior. Jack Messom made his first start since the loss against Melton replacing the unavailable Jermain Hollis. With Travis Munn amongst the substitutes and Hollis absent Ollie Robinson took the captains armband becoming the 30th player to do so for Eastwood CFC. Kamani Wilson and Kyle Coke were also included.

On a tough surface Eastwood started the better side, just six minutes on the clock a lofted ball down ECFC’s left channel was met in the air by Moore only to be greeted with a flying elbow by the Pinchbeck number 4, referee Erno Vajda did reached straight to his back pocket to issue red card and his marching orders.

Two huge chances followed, from the resulting free kick Tyreece Robinson’ bullet header was somehow cleared off the line and with the goal gaping Moore and Omari got in each others way and neither could bundle the ball home in a chance that looked harder to miss, with the ball still in play Moore had a second effort at it but could only force a corner.

From the corner T Robinson rose highest but again the hosts denied Eastwood of the opening goal.

Eastwood were causing all sorts of ariel problems for the hosts defence with a quarter of an hour gone another cross into the box was met expertly by the head of the stand in skipper Ollie Robinson as the whole ground waited for the net to bulge, the Pinchbeck keeper made and incredible save keeping the game goalless.

Twenty-six minutes on the clock, the knights made their first attack a quick break away as Andre Williams ran at T Robinson, the big defended seemed to have dealt with the danger well referee Vajda thought otherwise issuing a yellow card to the Long Eaton loanee and a free kick.

The knights number eleven stepped up to whip a fantastic free kick into the top corner of the net, to put the hosts in-front completely against the run of play.

Cautions for Terry Atem and Jordan Knight followed before the half time break as Pinchbeck took control of a game that could of been out of sight.

Half time substitutes Kamani Wilson and Cameron Thurgood replaced the injured Terry Atem and Ferdinand Bartley. Both had an immediate impact Wilson forcing the home keeper into a comfortable save.

With all of the play in the Pinchbeck half Eastwood just lacked the cutting edge in the final pass.

Eventually the home sides defence was breached good football from the visitors saw Moore get in behind before firing a low cross into the box where Wilson was on hand to poke away his fourth goal of the campaign.

It was all Eastwood from then out, limited Pinchbeck to counter attacks.

Certainly two points dropped, credit to the hosts who defended well and frustrated Eastwood all evening. On a positive note it’s another game unbeaten and another point on the road.
