Eastwood progressed to the second round qualifying of the FA Vase for the third year running after a seven goal thriller.

Eastwood arrived at Leicestershire warm sunshine over seeing a fantastic playing surface at Cropston Road.

Despite Monday's disappointing defeat against Selston Eastwood made just the two changes Kyle Wrenn and Danny Hayes were replaced by Rory Smith and Chay Bettridge. After Friday nights heroics Kieran Knight found a place on the substitute bench.

A hectic first half saw five goals hit the back of the net. There was two chances at either end before the first goal went into Jack Walker making a great save and Kaylum Mitchell and Dave Jones narrowly missing the target. Paddy Webb did put Eastwood in front on seventeen-minutes charging down the left Webb cut in on his weaker right foot and smashed the ball in to the roof of the net.

A five minute spell saw Anstey come from behind and take the lead, first a deflected shot beat the helpless Walker, before another unchallenged shot from outside the area found its way into the corner of the net.

Eastwood replied quickly Kaylum Mitchell bringing Eastwood level with Sam Meakin getting the assist. Four minutes before the break Kaylum set up Rory Smith who's curling effort beat the home keeper.

Despite attack after attack from Anstey, Eastwood stood firm with Hayes and Wrenn putting in some goal saving blocks and tackles, Jack Walker made a string a fantastic saves to keep Eastwood ahead.

It was clear Eastwood needed some fresh faces and a bit of energy, the changes came with just over an hour gone, Bettridge, Jones and K Mitchell were all replaced, Knight, Whitehurst and the returning Joe Butler entered the field.

Eastwood changed the formation a little with Butler, Webb, Knight, Whitehurst, James all playing high up the pitch with Rueban Mitchell sitting deep infront of the constant back four.

Eastwood finished the game off in the closing minutes John Whitehurst cleared the ball from an Anstey corner the clearance reached Kieran Knight who ran at the heart of the Anstey defence he pace and power was no match and he put Eastwood 4-2 ahead. Paddy Webb completed his brace of goals with another assist from John Whitheurst.
