Eastwood got back to winning ways in the league competition with a comfortable home victory against Clifton.

Danny Hayes returned to the starting eleven and Joe Butler made his first start of the season replacing Jack James (suspended) and Kaylum Mitchell (unavailable).

Eastwood started very brightly and took the lead after five minutes. Joe Butler marked his return hitting a thunderous half volley from the angle of the penalty area into the far corner after been put in the clear by Reuban Mitchell. Clifton almost responded immediately after Eastwood conceded a needless set play. From the resulting corner Danny Hayes was on hand to head the ball off his own goal line with keeper Jack Walker beaten. Two minutes later Clifton again went close when striking the outside of the post from close range. Joe Butler turned provider on twenty-two minutes when he slipped the ball into Dave Jones path inside the area and the striker made no mistake with a calm finish.

Eastwood looked dangerous at this point of the game with the visitors struggling to cope with the pace of the home sides attacks. On thirty-five minutes Paddy Webb went close after getting clear of the visiting defence but shot wide with only the keeper to beat. Webb didn't have to wait long for another chance after being put clear by Connor Wrenn the young striker made no mistake with a well taken angled drive with his right foot on forty minutes.

In the second half Eastwood never reached the same level as the first as a attacking force. In fact it was Clifton who created the first chance of the half forcing Walker into a smart save getting down well at his near post. Eastwood responded again Webb got clear down the left side but his cross come shot floated across the face of the goal with no one on hand to put away.

On 60 minutes Clifton were unlucky not to get on the score sheet with a well taken free kick which stuck the up right. Again Eastwood responded and added a fourth goal on seventy minutes when Rory Smith found himself in space on the edge of the area and finished well into the bottom corner.

Clifton finished off the scoring on eighty-two minutes when a deflected shot beat Walker from 20 yards.
