Eastwood CFC host Gedling Miners Welfare on Saturday afternoon seeking redemption after defeat last weekend against Ingles. A late goal away at fellow new boys Ingles last Saturday was enough to beat Eastwood in what was both clubs’ first game at this level.
Eastwood will take some confidence in to tomorrow's game having put in a good display against a Nottingham Forest XI during the week, where Kaylum Mitchell and Dave Jones got the goals in a 4-2 defeat.
Gedling, meanwhile, are also looking for their first points after they went down to 4-2 away to Clifton All Whites on the opening day of the season.
Gedling finished 10th last season in EMCFL and are a well recognised club at this level competing at Step 6 for a tenth straight season. However the Mapperley side will be keen to improve on their position last season after some big signings during the summer.
Courtney Hastings put pen to paper with the Gedling in the week and may be included in the weekend’s game at the Play Soccer USA 3G Arena. Hastings, who boasts Basford United as several former clubs, will add experience to the young Miners squad.
As ever your support is greatly appreciated and always welcome.
