Eastwood go in search of their second Floodlit Cup Semi-Final in four years but face tough opposition in Pinxton.

Eastwood will be hoping to take one step closer to getting their first piece of silverware on Wednesday night against a Pinxton side that has only been beaten twice domestically this season.

Pinxton are currently one place and one point above Eastwood in the table, with Eastwood having a game in hand. High scoring Pinxton are second top goalscorers in the league with 61 goals from 16 games and have scored twenty-six goals in their last eight away from home.

The Opposition:

Pinxton started the season in style winning eleven of their first twelve matches including seven wins from eight in the league before suffering their first defeat of the campaign to Eastwood. Then in the following matches Pinxton exited the Derbyshire Senior Cup and FA Vase before making in back to back losses in the league as the got heavily beat by in form Sherwood.

Since the loss to Sherwood, Pinxton have won six in a row, a run that includes three clean sheets, twenty-six goals and an 11-2 win against Keyworth United.

Last Time We Met:

The sides last met at the end of October, Eastwood running out 3-2 winners on the day. A Harry Allen first half double gave Eastwood a 2-0 lead at the break but Pinxton hit back with two goals in twenty minutes to bring the scores level. But with eight minutes left on the clock Harry Allen completed his hat-trick to seal the win. Eastwood haven't lost to Pinxton since January 3rd 2015 where a Nick Hewer and Steve Wright strike weren't enough as Eastwood slumped to a 4-2 defeat.

The game takes place this Wednesday, weather permitting at Eastwood CFC, PSUSA 3G Arena, Chewton Street, Eastwood, Notts, NG16 3HB. The game is a 7:45pm kick off. The match officials are; Reece Davies, Stephen Sears and Aidan Jackson.
