Eastwood CFC Reserves 12-3 Retford United Development
A superb second half performance was enough for Eastwood to make it eight straight wins.
Despite Leyton Nethercot, Callum McGarry and Kieran Knight unavailable to start Eastwood still fielded a very strong side and were far to good for Retford. Charlie Niblett made his first start in two months as he returned from suspension. Tremere Lindo and Owen Everton also returned to the starting eleven.
The game started off slow with Eastwood struggling to keep hold of the ball as Retford flew out the blocks and closed down every pass. The Retford number nine was causing some problems to the Eastwood back three, five minutes gone the Retford number nine dispossesed Danny Tring but his effort was wide of the goal.
Retford opened the scoring on eleven minutes Connor Wrenn's back pass to keeper Jake Pearson was miss controlled by the Eastwood goalkeeper and he eventually lost out to the Retford striker he poked the ball into the net from 5 yards out.
On twenty-seven minutes the game was stopped for an hour as Brandon Bellfield went in for a 50/50 tackle and came off badly, breaking his leg in two places, everyone at Eastwood CFC would like to wish Brandon the best of luck with his recovery.
When the game eventually resumed at 16:27 Retford soon doubled their lead 2-0. Eight minutes before the break Eastwood halved the deficit Joe Butler getting himself on the score sheet.

After a stern talking to at half time Eastwood came out fresh and re-energised and took the game to Retford. Joe Butler completed his hatrick in twelve second half minutes, his second coming from an Owen Everton cross and Butler smashes home from the edge of the area and his third a simple one-on-one which was well finished by the big man. 3-2
Whithin nine seconds of the restart Eastwood doubled their lead Jack Smith firing home from the edge of the box for 4-2 Eastwood turned the game completey on his head with over half an hour still to play.
Kieran Knight and Takunda Mushambi entered the field to further enchance Eastwood's attack. Jack Smith corner was met by Danny Tring at the far post to extend Eastwood's advantage and very quickly it was six as substitute Kieran Knight got himself on the score sheet with another excellent goal to add to his collection 6-2.
Two goals in as many minutes mean't it was seven then eight, Jack Smith's ball in to the chest of Joe Butler was superbly controlled and the big striker turned an riffled the ball home for his fourth of the game, Kurt Harrison hard work in the centre of the pitch was rewarded on 75 minutes when his serging run ended in a goal 8-2.
Connor Wrenn clumpsy tackle in the penalty area gave Retford a spot kick which the duely put away to reduce the scoreline, 8-3. Joe Butler scored his fifth and Eastwood's ninth before playing a one-two with Kieran Knight to help set up the teenager's second of ther afternoon.
In the final ten minutes Kieran Knight secured a twenty seventh minute hattrick as a substitute and then rounded off the scoring with his fourth of the game and his thirty-ninth of the season.
