Following on from the disappointment of losing in the League Cup, Eastwood looked to bounce back with a win at home to Bingham.

The welcome return of “Bermuda Dave“ and the introduction of Kenny were the changes to the team that played the week before .

Eastwood started off solidly and took control of the game, but were unable to make the breakthrough that their play deserved.

Against the run of play Bingham took the lead, from there Eastwood increased the pace and had several one-on-one chances that were missed, the frustration was beginning to show, until a smart move between, Nathan Brough, Owen Everton and Cal McGarry, left Dave Jones with the easiest of chances and the scores were back level.

From there until half time Eastwood kept pressing, but no change to the score.

HT 1-1

The second half saw a tactical change with Owen Everton switching position with Cal McGarry, and from here Eastwood began to dominate the match and take control of the midfield and stretch Bingham’s defence, however chances were still missed but it would only be a matter of time one thought before they scored.

The opportunity came when Cal McGarry was fouled in the box and Eastwood were awarded a penalty, but when the weak effort was saved by the Bingham keeper, you did wander if it was going to be of those days .

With time running out and a draw looking like the result, from nowhere sloppy play in the Eastwood box, Bingham scored a winner that was underserved and that was it.

FT 1-2

Those watching agreed that Eastwood made enough chances to win the game but poor finish let them down, and that this was a big a robbery as Ronnie Biggs and his mates all those years ago, or the Hatton Garden Jewellery heist !!

Eastwood ‘s next game is at home to Dunkirk where hopefully the team can erase the memories of the last 2 games.
