The last friendly before the start of the season and the depth of the squad was shown by the fact that manager Andy Tring could field 2 different teams each half.
The first half was one where hard work, pressing of the ball and playing Dave Jones and Kieran Knight down the channels paid dividends.
The first goal was a well worked flowing goal with Dave Jones and Cal McGarry playing good one touch football and a fantastic turn by Kieran Knight and left footed shot placed in the bottom corner.
Wirksworth worked hard and got back into the game and Jake Pearson had to come off his line quick a couple of times to smother half chances.
At the same time the speed of Eastwood’s attacks was causing the Wirksworth defence problems and if not for three smart saves from the goalie the score could have been higher.
The second goal came from great individual play from Dave Jones and again and well placed shot in the bottom corner.
A Clash of heads caused a slight delay to the game and concerns over Kieran Knight however after a bit of treatment he continued on and used his pace to go past the centre half and slot in the third just before half time.
HT: ECFC Development 3-0 Wirksworth Town
The Second half saw the whole team bar James Duncan and Jake Pearson change, a dubious hand ball penalty which was scored and then good pace by Wirkworth’s centre forward saw the lead reduce to 3-2. Ten seconds after the restart from the away side's second goal the score was level. However during this time the changes did not affect the team performance and several clear cut chances were not taken.
