1 year ago By Zander Shayler

A superb second half performance was enough for Eastwood to make it eight straight wins.

Despite Leyton Nethercot, Callum McGarry and Kieran Knight unavailable to start Eastwood still fielded a very strong side and were far to good for Retford. Charlie Niblett made his first start in two months as he returned from suspension. Tremere Lindo and Owen Everton also returned to the starting eleven.

The Retford number nine was causing some problems to the Eastwood back three, five minutes gone the Retford number nine dispossessed Danny Tring but his effort was wide of the goal.

Retford opened the scoring on eleven minutes Connor Wrenn's back pass to keeper Jake Pearson was miss controlled by the Eastwood goalkeeper and he eventually lost out to the Retford striker he poked the ball into the net from 5 yards out.

On twenty-seven minutes the game was stopped for an hour as Brandon Bellfield went in for a 50/50 tackle and came off badly, breaking his leg in two places, everyone at Eastwood CFC would like to wish Brandon the best of luck with his recovery.

When the game eventually resumed at 16:27 Retford soon doubled their lead 2-0. Eight minutes before the break Eastwood halved the deficit Joe Butler getting himself on the score sheet.
