2 months ago By Zander Shayler

Next Tuesday night ECFC Reserves will look to pick up their 1st piece of silverware when they face Sherwood Colliery Res in the Division 1 Cup Final.

Eastwood Reserves have had an incredible season reaching the final of the Division 1 League Cup and being just one point away from securing the League title as well.

Eastwood have won twenty-three of their twenty-six league games this season loosing just once scoring one-hundred and nine goals conceding only nine-teen. Kieran Knight has almost half of the scoring forty-six goals in all competitions this season.

Eastwood have already beaten Sherwood twice this campaign winning 5-0 away at Debdale Lane and winning 4-1 at home at the beginning of 2018.

Sherwood themselves have been in impressive form winning nine of their last ten in all competitions including a 10-0 hammering of title challengers Mickleover Sports Reserves.

Eastwood CFC Reserves route to the final;

Wed 04/10- vs Retford United Development (H) 6-2
Eastwood found themselves 2-1 down at half time, but half time substitute Kieran Knight grabbed a twenty-one minute hat trick before Mitch Davies and Owen Everton completed the comeback.

Sat 09/12- vs AFC Kilburn Development (H) 3-1
After being postponed twice and a third time looming the league took the decision to reverse the game to get it played, Eastwood progressed to the Semi-Final with a Kieran Knight hat trick in a 3-1 win.

Sat 10/03- vs Linby Colliery Reserves (A) 2-0
Arguably Eastwood's best performance in the competition was away at Linby, on an awful pitch in poor weather conditions, an early Dave Jones strike settled Eastwood down before Kieran Knight doubled the visitors lead six minutes before the break, despite pressure in the second half from Linby the Eastwood back four of Owen Everton, Danny Tring, James Duncan and Leyton Nethercot stood firm and saw out the game.
