In a repeat of recent fixture the Development team were back at Keyworth this time in the League Cup.

The first match was a close game, and this was expected to be the same.

A few tactical changes were made and Eastwood were the brighter side making numerous changes, but unable to capitalise on these.

A Tom Eastwood goal was controversially disallowed, with the Assistant Referee not flagging for offside, but the Referee then overruling, there is a lot of confusion over this so called 2nd phase rule and yet again Eastwood were unfortunate with the ruling going against us.

Keyworth rarely put the defence under pressure and the closest they came was a speculative shot from just outside the box.

The second half saw Keyworth trying to get a foot hold in the game, but again the better chances were made by Eastwood however it was not to be.

A head clash between TK and a Keyworth player, resulted in a forced substitution, from here Eastwood lost a lot of momentum.

The deadlock was broken when a Keyworth corner was headed in by Ryan Tinsley from just several yards out.

From there Eastwood applied pressure, but in the end could not find the cutting edge to draw level .

So disappointingly out of the cup, so now back to concentrating on the league with a hard game at home to Bingham Town this weekend.
