Today the Blacks came up against fellow Division 3 champions of the Blue league whilst we won the Red league.

Team- Alfie, Taylor,Daniel U, Owen H, Reece, Reuben, Cody, Brendon

We had played them only a couple of months back winning 4-1 but I was away on holiday & their manager was keen for a rematch.

A few new faces came into the team as we try and test our way forward here at Eastwood.

The Blacks started ok but were not fully alert & conceded an early goal through a quick Rolls attack which kind of woke us up a little. The boys then responded in quick fire fashion breaking away time and time again to a devastating effect. Our sheer speed on the break & link up play was too much for Rolls to manage and soon we had gone into a 4-1 lead.

I decided to shuffle the team around to try something different but Rolls found a way back and a rare laps at the back allowed Rolls back into the game at 4-2.

First half we had totally dominated and shown some great play and discipline in our performance.

HT........ Time for reflection and plan for Rolls trying to come back at us. We went back out as we started.
Second half the work-rate, tackling, positional organisation & determination of the team was excellent, Rolls gave it a good go and maybe were unfortunate not to add a couple more goals, but we defended as a team well and Alfie made comfortable saves. The Rolls management seemed to become agitated and the Blacks added to their frustrations as we broke with real intent scoring two more great goals, whilst looking a solid defensive unit. The work rate once again was top draw along with the boys being solid in winning the ball back. We had further opportunities where perhaps had we been a little more alert & communicated better we could of added 2/3 or even 4 more goals and this is not exaggerating.

Either way a 6-2 win was just deserved and a solid performance was shown today.
Well done to all the Black players today - Quality
