ECFC Black U10 1-3 Rolls Royce Leisure U10

Today was a strange game, as for 40 minutes I felt we dominated and pinned Rolls into their own half.

We had an early chance to score were Reuben flashed wide. Then a slight stroke of luck for Rolls when we tried to clear...... hitting the ref & the ball fell kindly to be passed on to score. The remainder of the first half we totally dominated, but in front of goal we sometimes took 1 touch too many.

HT 0-1.

Second half we continued as we finished applying good pressure, closing the ball down well and winning tackles, again we dominated but had to be careful of the Rolls counters & accurate passing moves. We hit the post twice, kept the Rolls keeper very busy but no goals.
40 minutes had passed and Rolls were holding on, but credit to them as they found a way out as the ball fell kindly to a Rolls player to make it 0-2.

Our boys kept on going and as we switched formation late on it left us open as we adapted and Alfie pulled off a tremendous save.
We pressed and pressed hitting the post again but for Rolls to catch us on the break to go 0-3 up.

I was gutted for the lads as they had battled and played so well. But credit to our boys as we broke again with Jayden shooting, for the keeper to save again but Cody smashed home the rebound to finish 1-3.

Boys you all did so well today and I cannot fault any of you.

We had more possession, Chances and showed a great determination to keep going. I was very pleased with all your performances, we were just very unlucky at times.

I have seen us grow as a team over a short period of time and we have held our own in division 1 of the YEL.
Fantastic boys ? Today I walked away knowing that this team carries great potential to become a very strong team which can compete at the highest level in the YEL.
