ECFC Black U10 3-2 Bagthorpe Athletic

Well it was a strange game today as Bagthorpe had three reasonable chances & scored 2 & hit the crossbar with another. Alfie had a couple of routine saves to make but nothing more.

Overall we defended well, controlled the flow but Bagthorpe were a very scrappy side with a very direct style of play. We tried to play football and did so....at times with a few combinations creating numerous chances but we were unlucky going agonisingly close.

0-0 at HT to which we looked in total control and really should of been 2/3 up perhaps.

Second half Bagthorpe pumped the ball up the pitch but we dealt with the majority of their play by our midfield wall, then we broke quickly and good passing combinations led to our goals with Thomas finishing well 3 times.

At one stage it was 3-1 but Bagthorpe scored a second to make it 3-2 , but in all fairness we could of and should of put the game beyond them earlier on, in all fairness Bagthorpe had done really well to even stay in touching distance.

But as the final whistle blew the win was achieved gaining a first Home win within 2 months.
