Eastwood CFC progressed to the National League Cup second round with a comfortable win over Kettering Town.

Eastwood made two changes from the side that beat Mansfield Town last time out, Bayleigh Reid dropped out of the squad and Finley Hayes dropped to the bench in came Bradley Palmer and Steven Beejer.

Eastwood started well and opened the scoring when Kieran Knight tee'd up Brad Palmer who's left footed shot curled into the far corner. Eight minutes later Bradley Palmer doubled his and Eastwood's tally with a mirror of the first goal, Knight again teeing up Palmer on the edge of the area who finished well. Sixty seconds later Kieron Hobday found some space on the edge of the area his low shot beat the Kettering keeper and nestled in to the bottom corner to make it 3-0.

With twenty-four minutes played some neat footwork by Palmer abled him to jinx his way into the box before finishing on his left foot to complete his hattrick. On the half hour mark the most move of the match was composed Ryan Baguley charged through the centre of the pitch before picking out Ochi Fraser who flicks the ball on to Knight who unselfishly returns the ball to Ryan Baguley for a tap in.

Eastwood scored two quick goals before half time Deniz scoring the sixth before Ochi Fraser set up Kieran Knight for his first of the match and Eastwood's seventh.

Spencer's positive run down the left saw him beat two Kettering defenders before squeezing the ball through to Deniz who played it out wide for Brad Palmer to cross in and Knight met the cross with his head to score his second of the match.

Kettering then pulled a goal back but it proved just to be a consolation as Eastwood went on to score a further four goals in the final half an hour of the match.
