ECFC Gold Saturday U12 3-3 Gonerby YFC Blues U12

A fantastic effort from everyone, we just need to keep focused and concentrate from the first minute until the final whistle blows. Every lad played their part today, From the first whistle we had all the play and piled on the pressure on the Gonerby defence, but the chances just weren't taken and it was Gonerby who on their first attack broke through on the break to score. Craig pulled it back to 1-1 fairly quickly after they scored with a great twisting turning run through the defence and slotting it coolly past the keeper. A lack of concentration though lead to Gonerby taking the lead just before half time. Jaydan who was playing in net for the first time pulled off some great saves but was unlucky with the 2 goals.

The second half became an end to end game, with both teams attacking well and both keepers keeping the score 2-1 to Gonerby. Lewis in the centre of our midfield was having a storming game and not only holding the middle well, he was winning the ball and playing some great balls up to the Eastwood strikers and out to the wings. Brandon again on the right wing was so positive in attack and also getting back to help his defence. The work rate from Suarez was superb once again, but just needs to get his head up and look to play players in a little quicker, but another great effort from him again. Jack and Nathan once again awesome from each of you. Josh too with some great energy up and down the field. Being sent clear on goal in the first half I thought you were going to score, let's shoot a little earlier. Callum some good stuff at times down the left wing in the first half, we know you can give more, just believe in yourself and work harder, but you stepped it up in the second half and got a goal from a nice cross from Craig, and you were in the right place at the back post to tap it home. Doddsy made some great saves in the second half, just need to work on getting those goal kicks out to the wings, which we know you will get with practice, keep working on it matey. With 4 mins to go we thought we had found that winning goal, when Craig was sent through from a super kick from goal by Doddsy, and with the keeper coming off his line he coolly chipped it over him. It wasn't to be though as Gonerby got an equaliser, to finish 3-3.
