Eastwood CFC Saturday Gold U12 7-0 Breaston Park Black U12

It was clear right from the off that Eastwood were the stronger and better side, we piled on the pressure from the first minute, and it wasn't long before we found the back of the net. We broke through with Liam first of all getting a shot blocked, it rebounded out to Craig who had his shot blocked too, but with the ball rebounding about in their box, it finally came loose and josh was on hand coming in at the back post to smash it home. We battled hard and fought for every ball, and at times we passed it about well, with Callum, Josh and Cameron all getting the ball out the Brandon and Liam on the wings and to Craig up front, who was running their defenders ragged, they just couldn't cope with his trickery and pace. And Craig was linking up well with his team mates, playing some great balls out to the wings to and carving their defence open.

Craig made it 2-0 when a lovely pass through from Liam sent him clear of his marker and he smashed it home. He then made it 3-0 not long afterwards. Liam's corner which deflected off the defender made it 4-0 just before half time.
Jack and Nathan were both solid in defence and kept them at bay, but on the odd occasion Breaston did get through Doddsy was on hand to make the save to keep a clean sheet for himself.

The second half saw Breaston have one or two chances of their own to get a goal, but the defence held firm, Ethan clearing just past his own goal post and Jaydan making brilliant saves to keep the ball out. We soaked up their pressure before hitting them on the break and a super ball through from Craig sent Callum clear with just the keeper to beat and his left footed shot hit the back out the net, making it 5-0. Cam came close to getting on the score sheet before the keeper saved it. Cam had a great game today, showed fantastic work rate supporting Craig up front and getting back to help the midfield and the defence, as did Brandon and Liam who both made vital clearances in our own defence. Craig completed his hat-trick with an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net. The final goal came when Brandon won the ball of their attacker and ran with loads of space in front of him, playing a lovely ball through to Craig who just managed to get a slight touch on the ball which the Breaston defender tried to pass back to the keeper but it trickled into the back of the net. An unfortunate own goal, which I have given to Craig as he was the closest to the ball, because OG's cannot be put on the stats on Full Time website. A fantastic effort from everyone today and we are getting stronger and stronger with each game. Another 3 points and we move up in the to 4th place in the league and just 2 points off the top, keep it going. Parent's Player today was Liam and Manager's jointly went to Craig and Cameron.
