Keyworth United Green U12 0-2 ECFC Gold Saturday U12

Eastwood's first ever run out in a cup competition and boy did they want it today. Playing the best football I have seen them play all season, totally dominated the first half, so much so that Keyworth only ventured into our half on a handful of occasions, and Doddsy only having to make 1 save as I recall, in fact we kept the ball so well up field that our defence was never really pressured. The passing football we played was excellent, the kick inter play between each other just simply carving out chances galore. Josh could of had a hat trick but his shots just going wide, Liam going wide to, Craig making the keeper work, Brandon too and Cameron. We could of easily been 6-0 up, but the only goal we had came when Craig won the ball off the defender outside the box, and beat 3 more in the box before slotting it past the keeper.

The second half was more of the same, Eastwood completely in control with more chances but the keeper equal to them. Liam hitting the post. Eastwood's second goal coming after Keyworth had been putting our defence under a fair bit of pressure for the first time, having about 2 or 3 corner in succession. It was from one of these corners that Jaydan plucked the ball out the air and quickly kicked it out to the wing where Craig brought it down and with all Keyworth players in Eastwood's half, played a great pass into Callum's feet, and had ran clear with only the keeper to beat, while their Manager and player's were complaining he was offside, Cal slotted the ball into the net. He wasn't offside as when the ball was played to him, he was in his own half, that was just how high Keyworth had pushed up, and you can't be offside in your own half.

Eastwood roll on into the Quarter Finals, and I believe playing like this, they could go all the way to the final.

Parent's Player was Liam and the whole team were awarded the Manager's.
