Eastwood were in dominant form in their YEL Div 2 game on Saturday, running out 7-0 winners against Breaston.

The first goal came early on when a Noah Curtis shot rattled the bar and the ball fell for Conrad Hawryluk who finished well.

Several Eastwood chances then came and went but they finally got a second when good pressure from Logan Allen on the edge of the Breaston box forced the defender into a misplaced pass. Conrad was first to react and fired home confidently.

Logan had a hand in the third goal as well as he showed some nifty footwork to make himself space for a shot, only to be fouled at the crucial moment. Luckily, Noah was on hand to pick up the pieces and he produced a great finish into the bottom corner.

It wasn’t until the start of the second half that Breaston got any forward momentum but they came away with nothing to show for it. Euan Parker in the home goal had to put his body on the line in making one great save but shots on his goal were limited thanks to superb defending from the various combinations of Ronnie May, Kaiden Anyanwu and Ellis Ward at the back and the non-stop work of Rylan Jackson in front of them.

Having comfortably seen off this period of pressure, Eastwood were soon back on the attack and it was Noah again on the scoresheet to make it 4-0. With the ball at the goalkeeper’s feet, he put him under pressure and battled well to make the ball his, before finding the net for his second of the day.

With plenty of time still to go in the game, Logan took full advantage, bagging himself a hat-trick before the end. The first was a shot from distance that had far too much on it for the keeper, the second and third much simpler finishes having been set up first by a cross from Conrad and then a clever flick on from Noah.

Credit to Breaston who battled well right to the end and had a chance to get on the scoresheet with the last action of the match only to see Euan make a good save and keep his clean sheet in tact.
