Eastwood CFC appoint Andrew Leith as Head Coach of Pro:Direct Academy | Nottingham Girls

The club are delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Leith as the Head Coach of Pro:Direct Academy | Nottingham Girls.

Andy will be coaching and managing the girls on a daily basis, as well as being their full-time tutor on site here at Eastwood CFC.

Andy's career in Ladies Football speaks volume, with two FA Women’s Premier League Championships (Reserve Division) in two seasons with two different teams (Nottingham Forest LFC and Leicester City WFC) to show for.

Andy also lead Eastwood Ladies CFC to 4th position in the East Midlands Womens Regional Football League and to the first round proper of the FA Cup for the first time in the clubs history.

Leith's record as a Head Coach consists of 29 wins, 8 draws and 4 defeats across 41 games.  This is one of the best records within the women’s football pyramid.

In his very first season as Head Coach, at Nottingham Forest LFC resulted in being crowned the 2014-15 FA Women’s Premier League Champions without losing a single league match. We won the league by 7 points and had the very best defence in the league conceding only 9 goals in 16 games.

Andy was then appointed Manager of Leicester City WFC at the end of the 2014-15 season, a season in which the team had finished bottom of the league and having just lost 12 consecutive league games. Within one year, the team went from the very bottom of the league to the very top and were crowned league champions 2015-16.  The team gained 25 more points than in the previous season and I improved the goal difference by 67 goals (the best goal difference in the league).

Andy's Leicester City WFC team is the only team in the history of the FA Women’s Premier League to win the league having finished bottom of the league in the previous season.

Eastwood CFC are excited to welcome Andy into his new role at the club, and we're looking forward to him getting going in pre-season with the girls.
