Eastwood CFC U8 6-5 Calverton MW U8

The opening two minutes saw Eastwood awarded a penalty after Harley Wood was hacked down inside the area Wood stepped up and smashed the ball into the top right corner to put Eastwood ahead.

Moments later Calverton were awarded a penalty when Alfie Naylor handled inside the box the Calverton number 9 stepped up but put the spot kick wide of the post. The game continued at a frantic pace as both sides took a turn at hitting the post. Harley Wood doubled Eastwoods lead with a fine strike in the top corner.

Calverton continued to have chances but every time they got close to the box Charlie was on hand to clear up the danger in the Eastwood goal, the stubborn defence of Toby Fletcher and Harley Dawson meant Calverton had to result to long shots that merely troubled the Eastwood goalie.

Sam Dudley got a quick fire double with some great close control and a couple of tidy finishes. Before Alfie Naylor made it 5-1 with a strike that nearly to the goalkeeper into the net.

With Eastwood four goals in front and the game seemingly dead with just fifteen minutes remaining you would of thought the game is done..... Oh No, much like last week Eastwood just fell to sleep for ten minutes and aloud Calverton back in to the game, scoring one, two, three then four goals to level the score at 5-5. With Calverton full of confidence it looked like the next goal was only going to come from one place, however Eastwood rode the wave of Calverton attacks and caught them on the counter Harley Wood beating two men before smashing the ball home, completing his hattrick and winning the game full time 6-5

With very little input from the manager Zander Shayler throughout the game the boys were aloud to express them selves and show everyone what they have learnt and how good they are, tremendous character and some great football well done boys ???
