Eastwood remain unbeaten but will be kicking themselves that they didn't win the game.

Eastwood started well the pace of Rafe Hastings looked to threaten the Lowdham back line from the out set, with about five minutes played Rafe had already had two chances saved. Just from the opening couple of minutes the Lowdham keeper looked like he was going to be tough to beat but then a rocket from Alfie Naylor thumped the under side of the bar to give Eastwood a well deserved lead. Rafe then rounded the keeper excellently and with the goal gaping manage to just hit the outside of the post and see his effort go out for a goal kick.

As the second ten minutes began Eastwood looked fully in charge and looked bound to score the next goal, then a miss communication from a Lowdham corner saw Alfie swing for the ball and put it into his own net. Eastwood continued to attack Alfie Naylor and Sam Dudley both shot wide. Harley Dawson and Toby at the back had little to do but what they did do they did well. On the stroke of half time Eastwood took retook the lead, Alfie Naylor’s fierce shot was saved then the ball dropped to Toby Fletcher deep in his own half, he tried his luck and the ball looped over the keeper and nestled in the back of the goal.

HT: Eastwood CFC 2-1 Lowdham Colts

At the start of the third period Rafe again went on a mazy run but lost control of the ball and Lowdham broke, Eastwood goalkeeper Charlie looked to have had two hands on the ball put the Lowdham forward pinched it from him and put it in the back of the net (poor refereeing). The game then got very stretched with both sides going end to end. Eastwood then missed three/four good chances and got punished as Lowdham took the lead for the first time in the game 2-3. The home side dug in deep and eventually got the equaliser through Rafe Hastings he danced his way through before finishing well (at his tenth attempt of the match). Eastwood could of won it in the dying seconds Rafe dribbling his way through again and having his shot saved before Sam Dudley missed the rebound.

FT Eastwood CFC U8 3-3 Lowdham Colts Black U8

Another game me as the manager am scratching my head we didn’t win, no doubt their keeper kept them in the game and our lads played well and moved the ball fantastically at times just lacked the end product, on to next week.

Man Of The Match: Toby Fletcher not just for his goal but all round got passing and organisation
