'Learn to be more streetwise', was the message from Simon Bryant as his Under 18's went down 4-0 at Evo Stik Premier side Grantham Town on Saturday afternoon.

"The conditions were horrendous, so much so that at times it became comical.
It was always going to be difficult to play out against the strong wind but again through poor decision making we have given ourselves a mountain to climb in the second half, said Bryant.

Credit to Grantham, they worked extremely hard and finished well but I didn't see the result as a fair reflection of the game.
Sometimes you have to win ugly and that is a side to our game in which we need to improve.
At present we are a too nice and show our opponents far too much respect.
The flip side of that is that results are then a bit hit and miss.
Focus must be on performing consistently.

The Chairman has given myself and Matt a remit and we are totally committed to deliver.
We are now planning for next season and despite already having an excellent group inside the building, we have been busy identifying potential targets which will in turn improve the overall quality, providing us with the strength in depth required to challenge at the top end.
It's not rocket science to see that we are light in certain areas of the pitch and this will definitely be addressed in the summer.
