
For the second Saturday running Pinxton took the lead, Danny O’Donnell breaching Hucknall’s defence for the first time this season but the visitors took control in the second period with two goals from Niall Thompson and one each for Leon Aikman and Johnny Hamilton, who had earlier scored twice for the reserves in a noon kick off.
Sherwood Colliery and Eastwood Community are two points behind the leaders.
A young Holbrook St Michaels side went down 4-2 at much fancied Sherwood Colliery. Dominic Hayes gave the visitors the lead, Sherwood scoring twice through Tristan Burrell, with further goals coming from Liam Black and Mark Carter. Holbrook fought to the end and were rewarded by a Josh Muschett goal in the latter stages.
Eastwood were Southwell City’s first opponents of the season, and they returned home with a 4-0 win under their belts. Matt Brian put the visitors a goal up at half time, with Warren Hatfield, Dave Worger and Kione Gordon all finding the net in the second half.
Linby Colliery produced an excellent team performance to inflict Matlock Town Reserves’ first defeat of the season. A fine individual goal from Dale Chapman on 12 minutes was followed by a Ruban Mitchell penalty on the half hour. Joe Butler got the third just 20 seconds into the second half, to round off an impressive display.
A weakened Blidworth Welfare team went down 5-2 to a new look Clay Cross outfit at the Welfare Ground. The Millers led through a Ryan Ordidge effort on 24 minutes, but turned on the pressure after the interval Tomas Poole adding a second before debutants Danny Fullwood with two, and Josh Pickering put the match beyond the home side. Blidworth added some respectability to the scoreline with Keenan Leeds and Brendan Williams scoring in the latter stages.
The points were shared at Bulwell where the home side shared four goals with Swanwick Pentrich Road. After a goalless first half Dwayne Soar gave the Bulls the lead, but goals from Lewis Mason and Guy Wilding turned things in the Swan’s favour before Jay Knight scored the goal which meant Swanwick’s run of draws was stretched to four.
Keyworth United edged past Mickleover RBL 4-3 to record their first win of the season. Scorers here were Jake Corkhill, Luke Burrell, Dean Bussey and Joe Byrne for Keyworth, the Legion replying through Kurt Dallison (2) and Daniel Dolby.
Hucknall Rolls recovered from a two goal deficit and a 6th minute sending off to claim a share of the points against Selston. A Wayne Cooke penalty and a Sean Gregory goal put Selston in a strong position, but Jack Smith and Chay Betteridge responded for Rolls, all the goals arriving in the first 45 minutes.
Collingham are still seeking their first point of the season, going down 3-0 at home to Belper United for whom Joe Conkleton, Scott Slater and Lewis Mundin were on target.
