Paul Rockley has been promoted to 1st Team Coach, who will take the lads through their paces at training, pre match warm ups and keep a close eye on their personal development, I wish him every success in his new role. Ted Byrne remains 1st Team Physio and has committed his time to the club.
I felt that it was time for a change regarding 1st team Captaincy therefore I am proud to announce that Lee Bull (nick name "The Bull") is now 1st Captain of Eastwood CFC. Lee has a wealth of experience and is a great leader of men with his die hard attitude out on the field. Lee also can play every fixture as his work situation has changed for the better. Again good Luck Lee, I am sure the fans will get right behind you and the team.
Lee Bull quoted.
"Up the Badgers can't wait for sat boys first game with the armband on and lead you to victory week in week out!"
We have recalled Jason Westwood (Westy) who has been out on loan playing for Underwood Villa, Jason has a wealth of experience and has come back fit and hungry to succeed. Jason has the best passing range / ability in this league and above and is a great asset to our armoury.
Nathan Mathers has re-joined the club to help bolster our deference. Nathan has played to a very good level and his loyalty and commitment is second to none.
Greg Simmons also has re-joined the club, and is injury free. Greg attitude has been top class and looks very sharp in training. Greg has played 70 minutes for the reserves scoring 2 with 1 assist. Greg is an attacking and creative player that will excite fans and threatens teams and is hoping to continue his scoring with the 1st team.
Overall there is a positive atmosphere in the dressing room and the lads are eager to get back playing again. There are 13 games 39 points still to play for this season, Starting Saturday away to Linby Colliery FC. This is a big game for all involved and we will be going into this fixture with an experienced good squad.
"Come on you badgers"
