“Looking forward to Saturday, we start again and I’m hoping for a successful campaign. I’m hearing a lot of rubbish about how much we are spending and how we think we are this or that and this is one of the reasons I came off social media, talk is cheap and we will be judged on how we perform this season. This league is very competitive and has some good sides in it. Rome wasn’t built in a day but it was built!

“ I have had some calls this week asking me if I have the Ilkeston Town job as that is apparently the rumour, openly I have spoke to Nick Hawkins 3 times this week, first time was regarding Ross Parker who we are delighted to have at the club, second time I spoke to him was when one of my former manager’s has applied for the job and Nick asked me my thoughts, third time was when I rang Nick to ask if my kids could come to his stables and ride one of his horses at the weekend so that’s that put to bed now. I have an agreement with the chairman and we have a vision that we are working hard to achieve.

“Since I have joined the club people have come in and embraced what we are trying to achieve, Some people haven’t and will leave the football club should they not buy into what we are trying to achieve. Maybe the journey we are aiming for is too much for some, change is seen as an obstacle for some but unfortunately that’s how this football club will work and I’m privileged to be part of it.
