Ahead of Wednesday night's huge EMCFL clash with Sherwood Colliery, Chairman Jamie Bennett and 1st Team gaffer James Jepson give their thoughts.

Over the last few years their has been some epic clashes between Eastwood and Sherwood, the best of which for the Red Badgers was the 4-1 triumph on the 12th May 2018 as Eastwood captured the Central Midlands South Division title on the final day of the season in front of a record crowd of 768. Eastwood recorded back to back 3-2 home wins against Colliery in the FA Vase and league last season, as well as holding Sherwood to a 0-0 draw with ten men back in April.

Message from 1st Team Manager James Jepson......

“We’ve had a good week of training and it has given me time to go and watch a few teams and players. Kieren Watson is a doubt with an injury he picked up in training which is a blow but we will have to get on with it.

“Sherwood will come with a good squad and we will have to be at our best. I watched them against Quorn and they deserved their victory”

“Get behind the lads and see you on Wednesday”

Message from the Chairman Jamie Bennett......…

“Wednesday's game as ever against Sherwood will be a tough encounter. For the past three seasons they have been one of the better sides we have faced, back in the CMFL and now the EMCFL. They are a very strong side which means we will need to be at the races tonight to get the 3 points. We have a strong squad this season and depth so we are confident that we can get the job done.

I’ve had many a conversation with JJ this week and I know he is happy how the squad has come together so we just keep asking for your continuing support. It’s my plan over the next few months to further generate more activity in the town around our first team. We have lots of junior teams at the club that bring parents etc which is great, we would like to see more local supporters coming to see what we have put out on the pitch with quality added to existing players this year and our young academy players like CJ, Leyton and of course big Kieran Knight.

In other Club News- we have lots happening and planned until the end of the year, including a fireworks night in the pipeline, Halloween activities, tournaments and fun days during holidays and bank holidays etc. Lots to look forward to so keep checking the website and social media for news.

As ever thanks for your support”
