Having secured the first victory of the season for the Reserve team in midweek the young Badgers entered this match full of confidence as they took on Eastwood & Kimberley in a local derby. New boys Dominic Simon and Dominic Palethorpe made their debuts in the absence of the injured Joe Newton and Alastair Staley.
Once again ECFC got off to a storming start with James Hallam put through in the opening second only for his shot to narrowly miss the target. However, this was just a temporary blip in what would prove to be a goal-fest for the U18’s.
By half time the score was already 6-0 in their favour and the game was effectively over, surely ECFC couldn’t throw away the lead this week!
Half time: Eastwood & Kimberley 0 - 6 ECFC
Straight from the kick-off a move involving 10 passes from ECFC result in their 7th goal of the game and score continued to tick over until the final whistle blew.
Half time: Eastwood & Kimberley 0 – 13 (thirteen) ECFC
After a disappointing result the previous week ECFC U18’s never looked troubled in this game. Yes the score-line was impressive but what was more pleasing was the style of their play. The boys never lost respect for the opposition and continued to play short, incisive, passes that created an avalanche of opportunities.
List of scorers include: Jarrod Davies 6, James Hallam 2, Brandon Jones 2, Mitch Davies, Ellis Evans, Dominic Simon
