17th against 18th as one place and three points separates the Red Badgers from the Bulls. A win for the hosts would bring them a lot closer to safety, Mansfield would jump above Eastwood if they were to win.
Saturday’s visitors are winless in 2023 but are unbeaten in their last two with back to back draws against Leicester Nirvana and Selston respectively. The Bulls are the only side in the division yet to win away from home taking five points from a possible thirty on their travels this season. Former Red Badger boss Paul Rockley is the man at the helm at AFC, since taking over in October Rockley has won two of his eleven league games in charge losing six.
The Red Badgers fell to a 3-1 defeat at the Forest Town Arena in the reverse fixture, joint boss Martin Ball is hopeful for a better result second time around, “It has been a whirlwind couple of weeks for DT and myself, and it was nice to get some time at training with the lads this week after three games back to back since we were appointed. We have introduced some new faces this week and we are looking forward to putting our stamp and ideas on the squad moving forward.”
Player Watch: Centre Forward Vinny Mukendi is the active leading scoring for the Bulls this season starting all seven games he has been involved in scoring five goals.
There are a couple of absentee’s for the visit of AFC Mansfield Ben Fairclough is still out, Louis Czerwak and Massiah McDonald are also injured following knocks against Newark. Travis Munn limped out of training as did new signing Oliver Robinson. Midfielder Ryan Tait is likely to fill in at right back following the departure of Rio Bakala earlier this week, good news is that Terry Atem and Jermain Hollis are available for selection.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS: The only previous game with AFC was the reverse fixture in late September ending in a 3-1 defeat for ECFC Jack Thatcher with the Eastwood goal from the spot.
