The Red Badgers take a break from league action this weekend when they visit Coalville Town in the League Knockout Cup. The game is Eastwood’s second Quarter-Final in six years.
Saturday’s hosts have had a terrific season, currently sitting fourth in the UCL Division 1 one point behind second place Retford United, Town reached the FA Vase First Round Proper and are still in the latter stages of the Leicestershire County Cup. On their way to the League Cup Quarter-Final Coalville have beaten three UCL Premier North sides AFC Mansfield, Newark Town and Newark & Sherwood United.
The Ravens have been invincible at home winning their last nine consecutive home fixtures in the league and eleven straight victories in all competitions, in fact they have lost just two in twenty-one on home soil this season.
Previous meetings: Saturday will be the first ever match up between Coalville Town and Eastwood CFC. The former tenants of Coronation Park, (Eastwood Town) last played Coalville Town in November 2013 during the same season they resigned from the NPL South Division 1 and had their record expunged.
Player Watch: Only Lewis Chambers of Retford United has scored more than the twenty-nine goals Ronnie Morley has netted for Coalville Town this season, seven of those goals have come in the last seven home games. Goalkeeper Jake Williams has been a huge part of the side that has kept 19 clean sheets this season and only run away league leaders Retford FC have conceded less than the Ravens in the league.
Squad Update: Willis Francis and Mark Clarke will be without Joel Stevens who is cup tied, Kieran Hayes is eligible though. Jermain Hollis is just one appearance away from equalling Paddy Webb’s all time appearance record. Aaron O’Connor will be hoping to make just his second start since November, after returning from injury.
