In our third home game this month Deeping Rangers are the visitors, a side that has never lost at Coronation Park and a side that Eastwood CFC have never beaten home or away.
A 93rd minute winner from Skegness Town last time out means it’s now three without a win for Ball & Thomas’ men. After being runners up for team of the month in November a drastic dip in form has seen just two wins from the last nine in all competitions.
The side from Market Deeping have won as many as they have lost in their last twelve matches. Rangers have showed some strong form away from home unbeaten in their last four tasting defeat just once on their travels in their last eight outings. Recent results have lifted Deeping back up to seventh place in the division three points behind Eastwood with a really healthy goal difference.
Player Watch: After losing last season’s top goal scorer William Bird in the summer, front man Tom Waumsley has stepped up with the goals netting twelve in twenty two games including the opening goal when the teams met back in September.
Previous Meetings: It’s grim reading for ECFC fans after six meetings the Red Badgers are still winless holding Rangers to a draw on two occasions. The results have been particularly poor at Coronation Park Deeping inflicting a 5-1 and most recently a 4-0 defeat upon the hosts. It was an improved effort in the return fixture despite trailing twice Kyle Tomlin equalised on the stroke of half time before Tyler Blake levelled the scores again with twelve minutes to play.
STAT ATTACK: The Red Badgers haven't gone the month of January without a win since 2015.
Squad Update: Ball & Thomas have no fresh injury concerns and could name an unchanged starting eleven for the first time since August. The returning Joe Harrison will be pushing to make his first start since September 2022. Ben Gowing could be included in the matchday squad for the first time since early November with Terry Atem also pushing to be named in the starting eleven for the first time since early December after returning from his shoulder injury. Ryan Tinsley has left the club due to personal circumstances. Jack Messom has now left Clifton to join Awsworth Villa on a 4-week loan spell. Isaac Warner, Divine Lyamu and Jadon Madondo all continue loan spells at FC Sez.
