Another good win at the weekend didn’t come without negatives as the Red Badgers injury list grew further with injuries to Jermain Hollis, Ricky Starbuck and Lavell White.
Like last season Belper have made a great start to the campaign and are still unbeaten after winning two of their opening three fixtures whilst also picking up a respectable 2-2 draw with promotion contenders Melton Town.
Player Watch: There are plenty of ex Red Badgers within the Belper squad, Ferdinand Bartley, Jack Messom, Terry Atem, Alex Steadman, Jack Thatcher and Surafel Tefera have all represented Eastwood in the past. Last seasons UCL Division 1 top goal scorer Jack Thatcher has scored in two of Belper’s opening three league fixtures and will be keen to get another against his former side tonight.
Previous Meetings: The head to head record between the two sides, isn’t great reading for Eastwood, its just three wins from sixteen meetings for the Red Badgers, despite that Eastwood are unbeaten in the last three, last losing in August 2022. Only Sherwood (11) have picked up more wins over Eastwood than Belper (8).
Squad Update: Tyler Blake and Aaron O’Connor returned on Saturday and are both in contention to start this evening. Jermain Hollis (ankle), Ricky Starbuck (calf) and Toby Woodward (holiday) are all unavailable. Phil Watt and Lavell White will face late fitness tests to access their injuries. Finnley Commons could make his first start for the club after impressing in the opening five games of the season. Louis Czerwak has left the club.
