MATCH PREVIEW- Tuesday 4th November

Zander Shayler3 Nov - 19:00

Willis Francis takes charge of his first game as we welcome Ashby Ivanhoe to Coronation Park.

We returned to winning ways on Saturday after a late comeback saw goals from Toby Woodward (85th minute) & Thomas Hodgkinson (88th minute) secure our place in the next round.

Ashby Ivanhoe currently prop up the league table with three wins from fifteen matches however their recent form is up there with the best in the league as all three of those wins have come in their last eight matches where they have lost just twice. Tomorrow's visitors last game was a convincing win over Skegness Town, a win that move them to within three points of Eastwood.

Previous meetings: Ivanhoe have been a bogey team for Eastwood in recent years before this season it was four wins out of the last five in Ashby’s favour. Although the Red Badgers have now won back to back games following successive 3-1 win’s. It wasn’t a routine victory in the reverse fixture in July… Sam Tyler denied the hosts from the penalty spot inside ten minutes before Terry Hawridge gave us the lead from a free kick. Sam Birks drew the game level before the break and second half goals from Phil Watt and Jermain Hollis clinched the win.

Player Watch: Despite the start to the season Ashby have had they still have plenty of players to watch out for, former Belper United man Sam Birks has scored ten goals in eighteen games including the only goal for Ashby in their 3-1 defeat to the Red Badgers in the return fixture. Wide man Will Robson also boasts the same record as Birks having bettered his tally from last season already. Former Red Badger, Louis Anthony will captain Ivanhoe tomorrow night as part of a back line line that has kept successive clean sheets.

Squad Update: The new boss inherits a squad with no new injury concerns, Jermain Hollis and Daniel Elliott could be rested with Declan Dunn likely to return to the squad. Jake Wright is set to be out for 4-6 weeks. Finnley Commons returned to the match day squad on Saturday and will feature again tomorrow night. Toby Woodward scored the equalised as he impressed off the bench on Saturday afternoon, the midfielder could start just his second league game since September 2024.
