Eastwood CFC is thrilled to announce the appointment of Lewis McGugan as our new Academy Lead. Lewis brings a wealth of experience to the role, having made his professional debut for Nottingham Forest at just 17 and amassing over 280 professional appearances in the Football League. Over the past three years, he has been immersed in coaching, both within club environments and through one-on-one sessions. He aims to use his skills and experiences to create a dynamic, enjoyable, and insightful coaching environment for our young talents.
Lewis said “ I’m delighted to join Eastwood CFC as academy lead. The Chairman’s vision and desire for the club was apparent after our first conversation. His goal to create a pathway for players is something we both share the same enthusiasm on. I am really looking forward to giving my all on a daily basis and creating the best environment for the players to be the best that they can be.”
Club Chairman Lee Wood expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I am absolutely delighted to welcome Lewis to the club. From our very first conversation, I was struck by his passion for the game, his commitment to developing players, and his desire to pass on the knowledge he's gained from his professional career. With someone of Lewis' calibre at the helm, I'm confident that our academy will continue to grow and improve, and I look forward to seeing it flourish under his leadership."
Lewis along with Under 21 manager Matt Clowes will be in charge of tonight’s FA Youth Cup tie with Alfreton Town. The lads are in the 1st Qualifying Round of the competition after winning 5-0 at Deeping Rangers two weeks ago.
