Red Badgers Capture Dixon

Zander Shayler21 Jan 2022 - 17:30

Former Notts County and Boston United midfielder Kyle Dixon has put pen to paper with ECFC.

The 27 year old signs from Newark FC and will be available to face Quorn this weekend. Despite training with Eastwood in pre-season Jepson opted not to sign the midfielder, Dixon signed for step three side Gainsborough Trinity instead but has most recently been playing for Newark FC in the UCL.

Kyle also boasts the likes of AFC Telford United, Grantham Town and Basford United as his previous clubs alongside winning a league title with Ilkeston Town as vice captain.

Speaking to joint gaffer Rockley he had this to say;

"Once we accepted the opportunity Kyle was one of the long term targets we was looking to bring to the club with proven title winning pedigree and higher level experience he ticks all the boxes in terms of what we are looking to build the team around and also he will aide the up and coming younger players development. Kyle is a massive coup for the club who will inspire players within the squad as well as making people take note away from the club.”

“I am delighted to welcome Kyle to the club.”

Shayler also added : “Kyle Dixon is a player who will be on most clubs target lists and certainly has been on ours for quite a while, local, match fit and brings bags of quality fits right into what we are after. I know the Chairman is a huge fan as well and I’m confident he’ll hit the ground running and hopefully maintain the clubs unbeaten start to 2022.”

Speaking to the man himself “Dicko” had this to say: “ Really happy to be signing for this up and coming club. It’s been a long time coming and I appreciate all the hard work that has gone on to get this deal over the line. The style of play was a big factor in joining Eastwood and I look forward to working with the Gaffers, staff and players. Looking forward to seeing the fans tomorrow and hopefully a lot more of them next Saturday.”

Tomorrow we face Quorn at Farley Way aiming to make it back to back victories for the first time since November.
