Tyreece Robinson joins on an initial one month loan from Long Eaton United. Despite being only 22 years of age, Tyreece has already gained a substantial amount of experience at a number of local clubs, including Ilkeston Town, Gresley and Belper Town. A trainee at Derby County, he originally came to prominence at the Mickleover Sports academy when the club had high hopes for his future after he captured the attention of a number of league clubs. The tall athletic and pacy versatile defender will make a huge impact to the Red Badger defence, in a statement on Long Eaton United website following his summer move from Frickley Athletic, Robinson said: “I would say I am quick and making recovery runs from attacking positions is one of my strengths.” Thankyou to Ian Deakin from Long Eaton for his help with the deal. Joint gaffer Thomas added: “Firstly we would like to thank Deaks at long Eaton United for helping us out with a short term loan for Ty. Tyreece is a commanding centre half who is 6ft plus with good pace, he has good experience at Step 4 & 5 so we are looking for him to come straight in and have a instant impact.”
Second deal of the week is midfielder Jermain Hollis who joins the club for his second spell, Hollis will be building on his 22 appearances for the club joining from Newark & Sherwood United. Jermain will bring a wealth of experience to a young midfield, the 36 year was born in Nottingham, but represented Jamaica at Under 20 level. He played at the 2005 CONACAF U20 Tournament, which doubled as the qualifying process for the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship, and at the 2006 Central America and Caribbean Games. Jermain is familiar with Eastwood coming through the Eastwood Town academy and spent nearly five years at the club in two different spells before leaving for Kidderminster Harriers and Rainworth Miners Welfare respectively. Former boss James Jepson described Hollis as “having a great attitude, physically committed, bringing strength, experience, quality and a winning mentality.” Jermain signed in June 2020 having won promotion with Ilkeston Town, he left two games in to Stephen Kirkham’s tenure. DT said “We would like to welcome Jermain back to the club, myself and Bally have known Jermain for years and he will bring some much needed experience to our midfield. He is a model professional and someone the younger lads can look up to. I’d like to thank JD at Newark for waiving the 7 days notice to allow Jermain to join us.” Ball added “I grew up playing in the same representative squads with J so go way way back, Jermain is a huge addition to the squad.”
The third addition is right back Oliver Robinson who joins from Dunkirk having come through the youth system with the “Boatmen”. Ollie was part of the FA Youth Cup squad that knocked out Coventry United in the first round and has made over 50 appearances for Dunkirk’s first team over the past two season’s. Since the departure of Tyrone Burton the Red Badgers have struggled to fill the right back position Ollie is the perfect candidate. Thomas commented: “we are delighted to get “Robbo” over the line. We have played and worked with Robbo at Carlton Town & Dunkirk. He comes in to fill a position we are struggling with at the moment at Right back but brings experience and understanding of what we want defensively and offensively for our full backs.”
