With Billy Bennett away, Kieren Fenton took sole charge and made two changes from the side that beat Loughborough a week ago. Tony Gbopo and Tom Marshall returned to the starting XI, with Kieren Fenton moving to the bench and Theo Sackey-Mensah not included. Jordan Hallam was amongst the substitutes for the first time as was new signing Ryan Wilson.

With seven minutes on the clock Tom Marshall tried his luck from distance and the shot went just wide. A couple of dangerous Jamie Walker corner lead to nothing as Eastwood continued to knock on the door.

Twenty minutes in, a free kick from the hosts right hand side was swung in and met by Nuttell who forced a top draw save from Scott Loach to keep the game goalless.

A couple of minutes later the hosts took the lead, Harry Wood was adjudged to have brought down Nuttell in the area, Matt Clarke stepped up to send Scott Loach the wrong way. 1-0

Ten minutes before the break Eastwood levelled. Thompson set up Nicholson who played the ball forward where the Skegness debutant between the sticks Jake Sykes misread the flight of the ball and lifted the ball into the sky for Tyler Blake to race on to and walk into an empty net for his fifth goal in five games. 1-1

The final action of the half saw Dimaio’s free kick whipped in for Harry Wood to head wide.

HT Skegness Town 1-1 Eastwood

The second half was largely uneventful with the ball staying in the Skegness half without Eastwood really threatening.

Webb headed over a Jamie Walker cross and Tony Gbopo smashed the cross bar after a good move.

With almost the final kick off the 90 minutes, Liam Adams played the ball inside to Toby Cotton whose goal bound effort was deflected behind for a corner, stopping an almost certain goal.

No goals in the second period meant we went to penalties.

FT Skegness Town 1-1 Eastwood

The Seasiders took first and Liam Adams sent Loach the wrong way.

Tyler Blake equalised with the Red Badgers first spot kick.

Toby Cotton put Skeg back in front before Luke Rawson levelled the score

The first miss of the shootout came when Matt Clarke stepped up and completely lost his footing and made it an easy save for Loach.

Eastwood had the chance to take the lead for the first time but Sykes pulled off a good save from Jordan Hallam’s penalty. Josh Holland restored Town’s advantage before Callum Chettle slotted in the best penalty of the afternoon, smashing the under side of the bar and into the net.

Luke Raynor-Mistry then saw his spot kicked saved, leaving debutant Ryan Wilson with the chance to win it only for Sykes to pull off an incredible save and push his effort on to the bar and out of danger.

Sudden death. Lucas Dakin thought he had scored only to see Loach claw the ball away after stopping the initial shot from hitting the back of the net. Eastwood now had their second chance to win it and goalkeeper Scott Loach made no mistake smashing the ball into the goal to second Eastwood through. Theo Red Badgers will now face the current UCL Division 1 League leaders Clipstone away from home in the next round.

MOM- Tyler Blake, during a slightly flat team performance, Tyler was a bright spark, creating numerous chances getting his team mates involved, scoring our only goal and scoring the first penalty in the shootout.
