Billy & Fents made four changes from the side that progressed in the FA vase last weekend, Thomas Marshall, Harry Wood and Curtis Thompson all sat out with injuries, Tony Gbopo started as a substitute, in came Rashaan Frances, Harry Wood, Theo Sackey-Mensah & Ryan Wilson.

It took 14 minutes for the visitors to break the deadlock, a corner swung in from the Barton right dropped kindly for the returning Lewis Stephen’s to swipe home 0-1.

Jamie Walker had the Red Badgers first opening of the game but he couldn’t keep his shot down. Paddy Webb then tried his luck but with the same outcome. Jamie Walker came closest to an equaliser firing just over the bar from 25 yards out as the half drew to a close.

HT Eastwood 0-1 Barton Town

Eastwood got off to the worst possible start at the beginning of the second half, just nine minutes into it Kieren Fenton brought down Stephens inside the area, the referee had no choice but to give a spot kick which Thomas Waudby made no mistake from twelve yards and sent Loach the wrong way. 0-2

Once again it was Walker who had a huge chance to get on the scoresheet for Eastwood but his shot went just over the bar. A nice switch of play from Dimaio landed at the left foot of Webb but once again the forwards effort was off target. With ten minutes left to play Pearce won the ball back and crossed for Rawson who didnt quite make the contact with the ball he would have wanted and his shot was collected easily by Cracknell. Tyler Blake then had a couple of shots from close range, the first was saved by Cracknell before Papprill blocked the second.

There was still enough time for Blake and Nicholson to sting the palms of Cracknell as the Red Badgers pushed to get a goal back.

FT Eastwood 0-2 Eastwood

Eastwood exit the FA Cup at the Preliminary stage for the third time. It wasn’t to be the Red Badgers day on an off day for a lot of players Eastwood still had a real go in the second half but just couldn’t find the back of the net. Credit to Barton Town and good luck in the next round
