After a really poor showing in midweek, Willis Francis asked for a reaction from his players and that’s what he got thanks to two goals in two minutes from Tyler Blake & Joel Stevens to end a run of back to back defeats.
Francis made two changes from the side that lost to AFC Mansfield. Alfie Flynn and Joel Stevens were recalled to the starting eleven with Tony Gbopo and Kieran Hayes dropping to the bench.
Skegness who are known for being hard to beat made it difficult in the first half as Eastwood were restricted to half chances, if there was a team to score it did look like it would be Eastwood but the sides went in level at half time 0-0.
Eastwood picked up were they left off in the second half dominating the ball but failing to really trouble Skegness, completely against the run of play Town took the lead in the 59th minute, when a charge down the Skegness left hand side ended with Jack Boswell curling an effort into the bottom corner.
The Red Badgers responded immediately with Joel Stevens playing in Tyler Blake who finished well in-front of his under pressure to level the game. Less than a minute later Eastwood took the lead, Stevens drove forward and with no one closing him down the big forward unleashed an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner.
Although Skegness huffed and puffed Eastwood remained in control and saw out the game in a mature manner.
